This looks reminds me so much of what Mike Love of the Beach Boys wore (I forget where he actually did) back in the mid 60's, around the time of "Pet Sounds". The look is identical in theory but still 40+ years later this southern California inspired look is still executed well.

I love this look. I could definitely see dressing like this to head down to our beaches for the weekend.
